These consist of two tickets to the October 23 show and a copy of Ron's latest album, Exit Strategy of the Soul. On August 25, Ron will be the special guest of Squeeze at the Warner Theatre in Torrington CT. He will perform a full solo set and, who knows?... There may be some collaborating going on. Tickets are still available.

July 25 - Ron touring the US this fall, presale on now.

All the great Ron videos from Secret Heart to All In Good Time and everything inbetween have been added to the OfficialRonSexsmith YouTube Channel. We will continue to post video clips, new and old, so keep an eye one the channel. But for now: enjoy!

July 8 - USA Release Date

Today, Exit Strategy of the Soul is released in the US on Yep Roc. The press that this cd is getting is phenomenal with Billboard declaring the album “instantly memorable” and The Nashville Tennessean proclaims that ‘Exit Strategy...’ is “top-notch Sexsmith.”  For more reviews, info and conversation, check out the Forum.

July 2 - Ron on the radio, UK

Some of you will have to get up early to hear Ron on the radio and some of you will have to sneak a listen at work. Either way, you will no doubt want to tune in to hear Ron live on the radio or via webcast in the following appearances: Thursday, July 3 at 2:30 PM local London time (that's 9:00 AM Eastern/6:00 AM Pacific), Ron will be a guest on BBC London's Robert Elms show. and on Saturday, July 5 at 12 noon local London time (7:00 AM Eastern/4:00 AM Pacific), Ron will stop by BBC Radio 2's Jonathan Ross Show.

July 1 - Release Day in Canada

So not only is it Canada Day, but it's the first release date for Exit Strategy of the Soul, Ron's new cd on Warner Music Canada. If you're not able to rush right out and get the record today, you can listen to the whole albums streaming at Ron's MySpace page. US, Europe, UK and Australia release dates are coming up soon!

June 30 - Radio Q's Canada Day Broadcast

On July 1, CBC RADIO Q will broadcast live from Canada House, Trafalgar Square, London with special guest Ron Sexsmith for Canada Day. The show will air on Radio One in Canada between 2-4 PM Eastern Time and then again from 10 PM - midnight Eastern Time. These airings will be webcast as well so fans around the world can tune in. Ron will be performing a few new songs from Exit Strategy of the Soul and will be interviewed by host Jian Ghomeshi. The show will feature other Canadian artists Guy Maddin, Zaki Ibrahim, Cadence Weapon and more.

June 27 - Secret Gig in Paris

It's been a long time since we've been able to do something special for our pals in Paris! Ron will be visiting next week for some promo work but there's time for making a little music as well. On Monday, June 30, La Blogotheque is sponsoring what they call Soirée de poche #3, a secret gig at a secret location for a very intimate crowd - only 60 people will attend. And you cannot buy tickets... you must go to their website and enter the drawing. You will be sent the secret location via email if you are a winner. See their website for rules and regulations. June 23 - First Canadian Place

On Tuesday, June 24, at 12:15 PM, Ron and band will perform a free, 45 minute set at First Canadian Place, the underground shopping mall in downtown Toronto. Following the set, Ron will sign autographs for HMV. If you pre-order Exit Strategy of the Soul during this signing, you will get the cd booklet autographed by Ron and can return to HMV after the release date for the full cd.

June 19 - An "Advocate" for Ron

Exit Strategy of the Soul is an editor's pick in the July 15 issue of the national bi-weekly magazine, The Advocate. They say Ron "intoxicates with his latest quirky singer songwriter set." 

June 18 - Mother Jones Likes It

There is a favorable review of Exit Strategy of the Soul in the the July/August issue of Mother Jones magazine, out now.  Comparing Ron’s songwriting to Brian Wilson, contrasted with a “fierce, simmering intensity,” they say that “'Exit Strategy of the Soul’ is the perfect antidote to irony overload.”

June 16 - Newbury Comics Pre-Order

Newbury Comics, with locations in Boston and throughout the Northeast is running a New Release Special Offer for Exit Strategy of the Soul. Pre-order the album through Newbury Comics and receive an autographed copy of the record, while supplies last. They will ship internationally.

June 11 - Gilda's Club Benefit

It has been announced that Ron will headline "It's Always Something... Else!", a benefit for Gilda's Club of Toronto on June 24 at the Drake Hotel. Also on the bill are Sean Cullen, Kevin Hearn, Dala and many others. Gilda's Club is a non-profit support center for people with cancer and their families. For tickets, call 416 214 9898 x504.

June 6 - T-shirts Now Available

June 3 - Ron Takes on the Canadian Songbook

Ron and many other Canadian artists will perform at Massey Hall on June 9 for The Canadian Songbook, a special event honoring the great Canadian songwriters that came before them, such as Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and more.

June 2 - Norway welcomes Ron

While in Oslo today, Ron will perform live on TV2's God Morgen Norge, will be interviewed on NRK P1 Nitimen between 10-10:20 AM and later in the afternoon, will visit NRK P3 Kompani Knutsen from 2:30-3 PM before finishing up at TV Norge Oslo TV from 4-4:30 PM.

May 31 - "Brandy Alexander" a Choice Cut

Ron's "Brandy Alexander" from Exit Strategy of the Soul will be a Choice Cut in Entertainment Weekly. The issue hits the stands on June 6.

May 12

On July 3, Ron will be at The Roundhouse in London (UK) - this is not part of a tour but a tie-in with Glastonbury. Tickets for this show are on sale now, available from the venue's website. There is a £1 booking fee online, £2.50 on the phone, and no fee in person at the venue.

April 18

After setting a summer release date for Ron's upcoming album, it has been decided by all parties involved that the upcoming Massey Hall date be postponed. The new date is Thursday October 23rd. Current ticketholders, your tickets will be honored. Should you need to return your tickets for refund, contact Roy Thomson Hall Box Office, Re: Ron Sexsmith May 3rd Concert, 60 Simcoe Street, Toronto, Ontario M5J 2H5 or phone: 416-872-4255. The April 30 Peterborough show is still on but the May 2 Belleville date has been postponed as well (details to come). We know many of you will be disappointed and we certainly apologize for any inconvenience. Please help us spread the word about this rescheduling of Massey Hall.

Ron will be playing the iconic Glastonbury Festival on June 27 and 28. You actually have to apply to purchase tickets and the application process has been reopened after additional tickets have been made available. Their website has all the details on tickets, camping and travel.

February 20

Ron will be part of the upcoming iTunes Music Festival in London. The show is February 28 at Air Studios and also features Jason Mraz, Dawn Kinnard and others. January 1 - Message from Ron

Hello people... Sorry I haven't written much lately over the holidays. I hope they were good ones for y'all. I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy 2008. It's shaping up to be another busy year. With any luck there'll be a new record by the spring - just currently sorting out the mixes and worrying about everything as usual. Looking forward to the upcoming Australian dates. I'll be appearing in trio format with Jason Mercer and Mark Mariash. It's been awhile since I played with that set up so I hope it will be a good sound. (I was determined to bring some sort of band this time!) Other than that, I'm just trying to make a few resolutions and keep one of them perhaps. Hope to see you out there this year.
