Just watched and listened to Colleen and Paul on www.southernsouls.ca
They played, "Mermaids and Surfer Girls", and, "TV Summer."
Having listened to their music on their myspace and written in Ron's forum about why I dig their music, it was an awesome experience to watch and hear them play today. Colleen and Paul have an openness that is so refreshing in its natural spontaneity. There is a childlike charm in their sounds that gets me smiling as though I am truly smiling from within and on the outside!
There is also a poetic, lyrical intensity that is magical, cosmic, raw, boldly honest, compassionate, and ultimately positive/fun-loving!
Colleen's voice is strong and soft simultaneously and this is powerful! Colleen, you have the coolest knitted hat and your expressions are endearing and insightful--you're a beautiful Sister! Together with Paul, there is a good vibe and it is unique/revealing of life as it is. I found myself with increased energy as I walked along the sidewalks afterwards and I was flowing with the good vibe generated from strong, beautiful Sister, Colleen, and funky, wonderfully experimental, Brother Paul!
