OFFICIAL REQUEST LINE - NOW OPEN

Since there have been several posts for Ron, requesting songs at various gigs around the world, I thought it might be best to make one topic where these requests can be posted and easily found. So, have at it, post your requests here and Ron will see them when he is able to get online.

Please be sure to include the date and city in the body of your message just to make for easy reading.

And please keep all requests within this thread (instead of starting a new thread) if at all possible to make it easier on Ron to keep track. Thanks.

    Gothenburg, 14th of november 2008.

    Hej Ron.

I am really dying of excitement to see you live. Me and my girlfriend are both huge fans and adore your music. For her, the tickets are a suprise:)

So, if it is possible, it would be fantastic if you could play: Wishing Wells, How on earth and For the Driver.

Of course, every other song is brilliant too, but these accompanied us for a very long time.

    Thanks in advance.

(P.s. excuse my english, i am just improving ;) )

Madrid Dec 2. Looking forward to hearing ESOTS songs for the first time. I'm travelling alone to Madrid that day, so Travelling Alone would be perfect. Can't wait.

    Hi!

For the Uppsala gig November 16 I would very much like to hear: "Doomed", "Seem to recall" and "Words we never use".

Also I would like you to come on stage at least 15 minutes late in true rockstar fashion, since it says that the show will start at 7 already and I will have a hard time making it to 7. Also to kick off 15 minutes past the hour is an academic tradition for lectures in Uppsala so it would not be weird. Big Smile

Hope you are well. Look forward to the gig, which I have heard is sold out.

    Hello Ron,

I might be a little late with requests for tonight's concert in Oslo, but if you see this I'd love to hear Hands of Time, Former Glory and Travelling Alone. Hope you're having a good time on tour.

    All the best from Nils

Hi. I´m so looking forward to the gig tonight! This is very short notice, but I really love to hear "Tomorrow in here eyes". It was our wedding song when we got married this summer!

    Love,

    Copenhagen, Friday November 21st

    Hi Ron

I just went through all your records and found these gems that we don't hear so often.

Some dusty things, Don't ask why, Least that I can do, Disappearing act, Right about now, Feel for you, Several miles, From now on.

-Just giving you a few to choose from!

If you could fit any of those songs in, then I might consider dropping by Wink

    See you on Friday!

    Thanks,
    Kim

    Copenhagen, Friday November 21st

     Hi Ron,

I hope I'm not too late. I'm seeing you for the second time tomorrow and I would love to hear Cheap Hotel, Never Been Done, Strawberry Blonde (I love your story songs) and especially Speaking With The Angel and Former Glory. I also second Kim's requests above, especially Don't Ask Why and From Now On.

(Obviously I quite understand that you'll hardly be able to fit all of them in, but giving you a few to choose from, as Kim says Wink )

Re: OFFICIAL REQUEST LINE - NOW OPEN

A thought just crossed my mind: (I'm 99% sure that this one is too late, but I may as well try my luck.) I would LOVE to hear Maybe This Christmas live in Copenhagen today now that it's the right season. Smile

Just a thought. I'm sure I'll enjoy the gig whatever you play, though. Big Smile

Re: OFFICIAL REQUEST LINE - NOW OPEN

That´s an old story. I´m an old Bilbao fan since the days of "Ron Sexsmith" (the first import copy)

I emailed him several times. I went to Brighthom from Bilbao only to attend his Retriever Tour Show. He mentioned us (my wife Cristina, too) and he gave thanks for the long travel and played us a sublime "Thinking Out Loud". But the train to London left before the concert final part. So it was a unfinished affair.

In 2007 we attended the Granada (Spain) show (800 kilometres) only to see Ron "ten songs setlist" cos the group of Jason Molina (Songs Ohio) was the main act ( what a shame and I love Jason music but...it can´t be compared and dear Jason... you should play always before Ron...) Another unfinished affair.

So for me the Bilbao show this week is a real celebration, a dream come true in my hometown and a lot of people who will attend are my  friends. So it´s a special day. I keep preaching ron´s gospel since the day I discovered he´s the best songwriter of my generation ((I was born in 1964 like Ron). So here´s my blog...and Ron is the main artist this month..and in my short radio program too.

    http://rockrodriland.blogspot.com/search?q=

I consider Exit Strategy one of the most soulful records of all time with "Arthur Alexander" (Warner Record), "Moments from this Theater"(Dan Penn & Spooner Oldham) or "At my Age" Nick Lowe...to name just three masterpieces...

So Ron can play whatever song he wants and it will be great. But.. please don´t forget to play as an encore: "Thinking Out Loud". That´s "our" song. We are so excited here in Bilbao. Thursday will come soon but we want it lasts forever. It will be the third time and I guess... a finished affair.

    Love and keep the faith.

    Joserra
